Information on Fabric Filters

Fabric are machines that control pollution of air. The machines can get rid of particulate matter from the air. The matter deposits from a stream of air remain on the fabric. The clean air then passes through the fabric. Today, most of the companies are now using these devices to clean gas.

The performance of filter bag houses is not similar to the electrostatic precipitators. The condition of the processes determine how the effective the electrostatic precipitators are. The bag houses, on the other hand, are highly effective even in getting rid of tiny particles. There are three major categories of bag houses. The shaker, pulse jet, and the reverse air. The groups they are put in mostly depends on how they remove the dust that is collected on the filter surface.

The first type of fabric filter is the shaker. In the mechanical shaker, there are tubular filter bags that are fastened on the cell plate. The cell plate is found at the bottom of the filter. Horizontal beams are then used to suspend them at the top. The dirty air enters the bag house from the bottom. It passes through the filter then the dust is collected on the inside of these surface bags. Shake the top of the horizontal bar from where these bags are suspended when cleaning the mechanical shaker.

The second kind is the reverse air baghouse. An adjustable hanger frame is found at the top. This hanger is used to suspend the baghouse that is fastened to the cell plate located at the bottom. The dirty gas enters these fabric filters usually. The gas enters the baghouse and dirt is collected on the inside of the bag. Before cleaning the bag, you will need stop filtration from the compartment that is to be cleaned. Using the reverse direction, blow cleaning air into the dust collector. This creates pressure that leads to the collapsing of the bags. The dust will then crack and fall into the hopper. There are rigid rings sawn to the bags to prevent them from total collapse when cleaning.

The final kind of fabric filter is the pulse jet. A metal cage supports the individual filter bags. A cell plate on the roof of the fabric filter is where every filter element is fastened. The dirty gas entered from the bottom of the baghouse. It then flows to the inside from the inside of the filters. To clean the pulse jet, inject a short burst of compressed air through the common manifold.
